C4 Takes Technologies to BIO 2009

C4 to Present 60 Leading-Edge Technologies at BIO International Convention

A therapeutic for influenza, a mycotoxin biosensor, and a contact lens that senses glucose levels are a few of the  leading-edge bioscience and health technologies C4 will promote at the 2009 BIO International Convention to be held May 18-21, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.

At BIO 2009 members of C4, a technology transfer consortium that links universities across Southwest Ontario, will actively market more than 60 technologies and discoveries from its partner institutions.

A full list of the technologies that C4 is promoting this year at BIO is available on the C4 Website.

C4 has a booth inside the Ontario Pavilion (booth 3311). As well, several teams from C4 Institutions will participate in the BIO Partnering Forums, promoting C4 technologies.

About C4

C4 fosters innovation in Southwest Ontario by promoting technology transfer and commercialization. Comprised of ten universities and research institutions, C4 members coordinate their resources, cooperate with governmental and industrial bodies, collaborate in multi-disciplinary research to solve real world problems, and commercialize the results of their research.

C4’s members are McMaster, Guelph, Waterloo, Western, Windsor, and Wilfrid Laurier universities, and Robarts Research Institute, the Lawson Health Research Institute, Hamilton Health Sciences, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. This diverse group of universities and research institutions generates hundreds of new discoveries each year. It is C4’s mission to help its members transfer these discoveries to society.
